Who it's for

• Families who print often: free story pages, coloring scenes, activities and school work.
• Grown-ups who want to print from a phone without fetching a laptop.
• Anyone who wants to scan a finished page to send to grandparents.

Who should skip it

• Occasional printers: if you print a page a month, the higher price up front may never pay back.
• Anyone who prints mostly text in bulk: a laser printer is faster.

Worth knowing before you buy

• The first setup (filling the tanks and letting the ink settle) takes a while; do it before the evening you need it.
• Print coloring pages at "standard" quality: line art doesn't need photo settings and uses less ink.
• A slightly heavier paper (24 lb) makes the printed page nicer to color on.
• This is a grown-up's device. Children can choose the page; an adult prints it.
